Pros

A few good apples in the bunch

Cons

The bunch was full of bad apples. Employees with no leadership skills were placed in leadership roles. Employees were often frustrated because Design would overstep An employee’s success at this company is dependent on the team they are put on. Employees were insecure and micromanaged direct reports. Employees were shown no real appreciation. Leadership observed unprofessional behavior, but failed to correct it. Employees were allowed to throw tantrums without consequence. Employees sabotaged the growth of others. Employees did not manage time properly, leading to unnecessary in-person Friday meetings. Employees would often take samples without communicating making presentation set-ups difficult. Employees that were not blonde were not preferred by leadership Employees did not respect others’ time and were consistently tardy to meetings. Carter’s is truly a baby company, because it’s run by toddlers.

Pros

Not a high stress job

Cons

Carters just keeps getting worse and worse. The micromanaging is at an insane level but HR won’t listen to any complaints DM’s just do whatever they want and won’t listen to store management about how things actually impact the store Nothing ever works- the technology is constantly under maintenance or just not working at all, good luck accessing any KPI reporting because your hourly reads will be 2 hours behind Very heavy on selling the Credit Card which has a high interest rate and lackluster benefits Continuously cuts payroll so it’s impossible making full time hours or getting anything done in the store Only ‘allowed’ in the store 30 minutes before open so the store is always going to be filthy and any moves have to be made during business hours with customers in the store If you’re an SOS store they don’t want you to actually try and stop theft and with the payroll hours cut you’ll be in the store alone anyway so there’s not much you can do to get out of the SOS program Shipment will randomly be heavy with no warning and you’ll be overrun with the same product that’s not selling They say you can grow within the company and internal candidates take priority but that’s not accurate-they’ll keep you in your position just so they don’t have to replace you Dress code is crazy
