Pros

Canadian based so they treat their employees with dignity and respect. They make it known that the employees are the key to success. Huge rapidly growing business with tons of opportunity to advance. This is also the safest company I have ever worked for.

Cons

The hours kind of sucked, but that's just the way factory work is.

Pros

I truly enjoyed my career at Cascades. I worked with a lot of great people and made some fantastic friends along the way. I always had a great Manager that supported me and pushed me to grow and advance. If you don't like a fast paced environment this isn't a job for you, but I enjoyed the challenge and projects that were thrown my way.

Cons

I really don't have any cons, I knew what I was getting into in a Manufacturing environment. There were struggles and rough days, but being empowered to make my own decisions and work with all levels of employees made it fun and got you through the rough ones.

Pros

The money was great and a lot of the workers are great people. The profit sharing program was also pretty good ,but you have to be employed for about two years to become eligible . When working on Sundays you are paid double time and a half .

Cons

Now for the bad; Management enjoys creating a hostile work environment by turning employees on each other by instigating (he said/he said ). Rotating 12 hour shifts with a maximum of 4 days off consecutively ,but normally you can expect to be called in to work on at least half of all your days off and you'll be punished in some form or fashion if you refuse to accommodate them .Tobacco users; Cascades is a tobacco free facility ,but that seems to only apply to hourly employees ,outside contractors and vendors seems to be allowed use tobacco on the facility/in the facility .Last but not least ;the mold is awful and it's everywhere ,floors stay wet and slippery ,a hazardous amount of dust is always in the air the last year I worked for this company I constantly contracted sinus infections and still have trouble with my sinuses till this day ......So take heave to my words ,unless you're in one of those positions to where you need money badly ; please consider other options before accepting a job with the company .
