Independent when on the road. Given exclusive territory. Are able to have flexibility with pricing. Easy to identify your competition.

Cons

Too much paper work. Drivers do not get along with sales people. Management tries to make sales people take sides with drivers when you have to have a good relationship with them to succeed.
