Restructuring, poor people management

Pros

Working with low income families - sense of making a difference

Cons

New upper management is very top down. They talk out of two sides of their mouths and need to ‘walk their talk’. Preach transparency however are anything but transparent. Fear based management techniques, and lack of recognition are top reasons I am looking for another job. Center operating system for tuition collection is overly complicated and hard to use. Lots of parent complaints around billing and nobody seems to be listening.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We value all staff feedback regarding the working environment they are experiencing while working with CDI/CDC. Since our centers support the needs of different communities, activities geared to children’s interests, supplies and furniture are different in each location. Centers regularly assess their environments and remove equipment when it no longer serves the needs of the program. We believe in our teachers and staff working together to share their ideas and feelings, to listen to each other, and to resolve conflicts…these are core to our commitment to a workplace environment that is respectful, trusting and supportive. We hope that team members who find themselves in situations , such as you have described, know that their feedback is valued and needed for the Agency and centers to improve their quality of services provided. The only drama in our centers should come from children’s theatrical productions!

Pros

Supportive supervisors and co-workers and access to professional growth and development; thorough (paid) training before starting the job, paid holidays and sick leave, well funded centers with fully stocked supplies, time given for prep work, job opportunities within the company are regularly posted and upward mobility is possible, Supervisors try their best to match your experience and interests with job openings

Cons

Tiring at times, but that's the nature of the job.
