Pros

I have great boss, extremely sharp, intelligent and kind person. But she left.

Cons

President, COO, HR play mean-girls club. I found things came across me that is eyebrow-raising, made me question the integrity of the leadership here. The board of director is completely absent; they are for window-dressing only.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience working at Catalyst Family. We are pleased to know you had a positive working relationship with your supervisor during your time with us. We are sorry to hear the nature of your concerns with the organization and we hope that you felt comfortable sharing your thoughts with this individual. Over the last few years, we have worked to build resources and channels to be more transparent with staff about decisions made by the board and leadership and to provide general information about what’s happening in the organization and our industry. These include newsletters, quarterly calls, emails from leadership and SharePoint resources to name a few. Concerning our compensation structure, we will continue to assess and adjust our compensation to best align with industry, nonprofit and other applicable factors. We thank you for your contributions to Catalyst and wish you success on the next stage of your professional journey.

Pros

-Met some great people in the teaching field whom I still talk to years later. -Had some wonderful supervisors who helped mold and scaffold my teaching journey. -Gained experience without having the CAD units initially.

Cons

-Upper management DOES NOT care about their employees! I worked at this company when it was still called "CDC" aka Child Development Centers. They paid me dirt cheap and had me working overtime because they were always low staff. They went through a lawsuit that is why they changed their name, you can google it. -During the pandemic, I was still working full-time here at Catalyst Kids. They were a hot mess and extremely unprofessional. No one believed in masks and I risked my life coming to work every day trying to practice social distancing while the upper management never came to support us and got to work from home. During this time, I was only getting paid about $17 or $18... -They will decline your vacation hours. And if they don't, they'll be salty about it. -Some of the substitutes they would send were the absolute worst. This is coming from someone who started as a substitute here at this company. It was clear they did not care about professionalism and training their staff before throwing them out in the field. -This is a business, not a family-run daycare or afterschool program. They don't even care about the families we serve. All they care about is making a profit and believing all teachers are replaceable. DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and concerns. While we are sorry to hear about the challenges you faced, we greatly value your input, as it helps us address areas where we can improve and grow as an organization. We’re pleased that you had positive experiences working with colleagues and supervisors who supported your teaching journey. These relationships and opportunities for professional development are integral to what we strive to provide for all team members. However, we understand the frustrations you’ve expressed, particularly around support during the pandemic, staffing, and compensation. We recognize the importance of providing a safe, professional, and supportive environment for all employees and are committed to making meaningful changes in these areas. This includes re-evaluating our compensation structure, improving substitute teacher training, and enhancing our processes to ensure employees feel valued and supported. Your feedback regarding leadership presence in centers and accessibility is particularly noted. We agree that regular check-ins and direct engagement with staff are critical and are working to ensure management provides consistent and visible support. Thank you for the contributions you made during your time with us. Your feedback will continue to guide our efforts to build a better workplace for all.
