Pros

Somewhat consistant hours while working full-time

Cons

1: Nepotism is a buig problem where i work, which isnt surprising considering it is a family owned company. If done right, nepotism can be beneficial for everyone and a good thing overall, but where i work it iamily and friends were given raises without being as qualified or experienced as others. 2: where i worked, there was no moving up, unless you were friends or family.

Pros

The coworkers, the discount, & sometimes the customers. The coworkers literally make the job SO much better, since they are the only ones you'll be able to spend time with while working there. The discount is pretty great, I definitely used it.

Cons

HIGH TURNOVER RATE FOR EMPLOYEES Scheduling, pay, & management. As I said above, your coworkers are a big pro at this job because you tend to spend ALL of your time with them. When I worked there I had no time for any other friends except my cbc family. The manager had as working 9-11 hour shifts over summer with only an hour break (if they didn't forget about you). So needless to say, you get pretty close with your coworkers. As for pay, as a cashier you are not offered any way of making more than minimum wage. As a sales person, you make what you sell because of commission & that can go south real quickly. This store has lots of sharks as sales people meaning that the Sharks steal your sales. Management- very very rude & doesn't know how to treat people. The main manager is incompetent at doing his job so he has other people do everything that he is supposed to while he sits at his desk on his phone or griping at his employees that have done nothing wrong. The assistant managers are both great people, they understand the struggles of working there & most of the time they appreciate what you do for the store, they are both very understanding. In my short amount of time of working there I saw SO many employees come & go it's ridiculous, if a manager has that much of a turnover rate there is obviously something wrong but Cavenders refuses to get rid of him. Hours- the company is now enforcing a new system where you can only be part time or full time no switching back & forth. (Example: if you were part time during the school year you can not be full time over summer)
