Very competent RN, so-so management

Pros

The RNs and hospitalists are top notch.

Cons

Management is into micro-managing their people. There was a mass exodus of highly qualified RNs when a new manager took over the 4th floor.

No opportunity for advancement without nursing/medical degree

Pros

Great benefits - health insurance (including domestic partners), tuition reimbursement, decent time-off with pay.

Cons

Ineffective leadership and management of employees, low salary, poor working conditions (do not ensure that employees are able to take state-mandated breaks). There are some employees who are terribly unprofessional, yet Human Resources does nothing to resolve the situation. Unless you are a nurse, or going to school to become a nurse, there is very little room for advancement. Sadly, there is also a very high turnover rate in many areas. Salary not competitive.
