Pros

Good salary, some very sharp co-workers, decently located in regards to public transportation

Cons

This company rewards mediocrity, the environment is something from the early 80s (we're talking cubicles here!), the environment is not supportive for women or minorities in technology, it is very much 'Wolf of Wall Street' culture - you're either one of the 'good old boys' or you simply do not exist. the CEO calls the environment 'innovative' and is sadly being fed some bologna by upper management that has completely lost touch with their employees and its sad - he can't even see that his employees are laughing at him every single time he uses the word "innovative". There is not a single innovative person or thought in that company. Or if they get someone in who truly has great ideas - the motivation will be SUCKED out of them by the end of 2 years just because it will probably take that long to get even a PoC approval

Pros

Years of being a phenomenal place to work. Work/life balance. Decent pay. Good benefits.

Cons

Current CEO and company direction. The past 5 years of work were sold and decommissioned. Layoffs amidst record profits. Craig Donahue has no skin in the game. Does not care about employees

Weak leadership. Even worse CEO. Culture has gone down the drain.

Pros

Collaborative Peer Network - but since the leadership transition to CEO Craig Donohue, the once-vibrant culture has shifted to a rigid, top-down structure focused almost exclusively on shareholder optics.

Cons

Since the arrival of the new CEO, Cboe’s workplace environment has declined. Once a highly collaborative and supportive culture, the company has shifted to a top-down structure focused heavily on shareholder returns at the expense of employee well-being. Drastic remote work restrictions and recent staff reductions have exacerbated already poor work-life balance and burnout, as remaining employees absorb the extra workload. With flat compensation and limited upward mobility, institutional trust has eroded, prompting many talented professionals to exit.
