Thank you for your 4* review - I was encouraged to read that you felt that there was a lot to learn and that you were part of a great team - this is one of the consistent Pros we see in reviews. I was however, concerned that your advice to management was to care for our employees more. I feel that we strive to ensure all employees feel part of the team and that their well being is important. It is unfortunate if that was not your experience. Thank you again for your post and feedback. Andrew Stringer - Exec. Dir. Global Human Resources

Pros

Listening to the doctors explain the medications we're testing is exciting and gives you a greater purpose of how we are making a difference in the world. I am happy to be apart of something bigger than me and that makes a difference to so many around the world. You can gain a lot of experience and they provide all of the training such as CPR, Phlebotomy, etc. The experience is great for Medical School, Nurse, etc. applications. It's a good place to get your foot in the door if you are considering a medical career of any type. The teamwork and people is amazing. You will never work with a greater group of people. They band together to help each other succeed. Never a dull moment and you are always doing something new. Each day gives you a chance to use different skills on different events. There are plenty of opportunities to advance if you are dedicated to your training. A lot of different career opportunities I didn't know were options.

Cons

The schedule is quite demanding. It is flexible to an extent of choosing your available hours but the schedule can change last minute and you are often asked to work overtime or pick up extra when they are short staffed and over booked. Sometimes you are scheduled very tightly from event to event and this is not considered when a trainee is scheduled with you. The pay needs some improvement. The work you are expected to do is very important but at the same time I could be paid better as a cashier at Target or Amigos. Communication needs vastly improved. Decisions are made that my team lead didn't even know about but we are expected to follow through on by upper management. Employee recognition needs a make over. You can be recognized by participants if you happened to be scheduled to work closely and often with a particular study. There is an award for "Above and Beyond" but this only goes to top dogs of the company. A clinic employee of the month for recognition by your team leads or management would improve moral on busy days for the hard work you put in.

I would encourage you to share your thoughts further with your manager/team lead. Alternatively, feel free to contact me or a member of the local HR team. Thank you again for the post.
