Pros

Relatively good salary and good profit sharing scheme as compared to Flextronics. Less structured and do not require a lot of paper work as compared to Solectron(bought by Flextronics) Not too much politicking in senior management as compared to Flextronics. Good company to work for if you can get in at senior level. Well spread out manufacturing sites all over the world. Clear corporate culture was recently launched to guide employees. A lot of opportunity to travel to sites requiring support. Good overseas allowance if you need to support other sites for extended period of time. Good yearly increment if company is making profit.

Cons

Poor HR management, basically unable to monitoring employee's performance. No much guidance on how to excel in your job, you are required to look around for advice, and find whatever you can do to your job, even if it is the wrong way to do it. Un-balance work load in different business units. Poor corporate management to standardized all sites to follow similar procedures. Poor information sharing to allow all employees to access necessary procedure. Poor response to customer's need, program managers are not well trained. Big gap between high performance program managers and normal program managers, resulting in un-balance customer service.

Pros

To me, the best reasons to work for Celestica is, it's sheer size and global presence.

Cons

To me, some of the downsides of working at Celestica are: It is a culture of "Swim or Sink like a stone", do not expect anyone to show you anything, even you boss, he is most probably not qualified or a new hire too. You have to figure out on your own as how to get the job done. Also, there seems to be too much dysfunctional politics at all organizational levels. Finally, Celestica has the worst Work Life balance.

Pros

You don't get bored in Celestica. Due to the type of business, the work offers large varieties of challenges. Also the market is very competitive which is pushing the management into never ending Lean activities. Managers trained by this culture will definitely be a great asset to to other employers.

Cons

Clestica suffers from from what I call IBM syndrom. The corporate which suppose to set directions is very often wrong and and unaware of the reality in the manufacturing sites. This leads to unnecessary expenditures and conflicts.
