Pros

Culture is generally collegial. Large company with headquarters in Toronto. The manufacturing industry is an interesting one and the company has an interesting history with IBM.

Cons

Company has been challenged in a competitive industry. There have been layoffs over the past few years and employee morale is low. Work life balance is generally ok here.

Pros

If you can't find anything else. Also gain good knowledge about SMT manufacturing. Although there are long hours you will gain some valuable knowledge regarding the world of contract manufactuing. It is definately a very fast paced environment and if you like to get your hand dirty and work long hours than this may be some good training.

Cons

Long hours, poor management, no opportunity. Also there seems to be no concern for the welfare of the employees. Althought, contract manufacturing is a rough business and very competitive, but that is no reason to keep the employees in dark and unhappy.

Pros

The work place is clean and safe. There are many different types of job functions available if you're a regular employee. The benefits are competetive among other manufacturing companies, even though many "old-timers" still complain about it.

Cons

They are letting many skilled employees go. Celestica does not care much about retaining skilled employees any more. "Anyone is replace-able." The product quality sufferes every time there are a new batch of temporary employees. Also, it seems like the cooprate office is trying to move business away its Toronto site even thought this site has the best quality records. It is a great place to work if you just want a job and not a career.
