Pros

-Great people to work with I loved my RD and dont blame any of my aggravation on him.. He was a mans man and a true friend..

Cons

This is the kind of job that sounds almost too good to be true.. A very rah-rah approach at breeding good sales people gets a little tired once it becomes obvious that the favorites get the good shifts at the good stores and the others are given what's left at the stores with a history of less performance.. It becomea a monarchy of sorts once you begin to make sense of it all.. Pay was once a month and often a lot less than i expected predicated on my numbers.. Commissions constantly fluctuate and this makes it very difficult for u the salesperson to perfect their system and be consistant in your earning.. Much of your day and earning potential will be devoured by the most insipid of customer service issues.. like I lost my clock.. or how do I make this song my ringtone for example.. You are expected to help all who walk thru the door.. whether they purchased their equipment from us or not.. For 3 weeks after Christmas I spent 5hrs of my 8hr day helping people activate iPhones that were purchased online.. This would be fine if it werent a straight commission job.. As a CS employee you are also responsible for your own promotion and lead generation.. No company money is spent on advertising.. Realistically expect to work 50hrs a week and earn $3k a month.. Now there are some standouts in the company but none of them have any homelife.. You will be designated to a market and be scheduled at all stores in that market.. Regardless of the distance.. I would work 2 days a week at a store 67 miles from my home.. In order to succeed u are expected to sell most equipment at bloated prices higher than corporate stores and online pricing.. If u sell products at corporate VZW pricing.. U have nothing more than a $10/ hr job.. Dress code sucks.. Suits for men all day everyday.. These are just my honest observations and oppinions..

Pros

employees of Cellular sales used to be LLC contractors, the verizon commission payouts were way more than they are now, and the tax liability was very low as everything could be written off. No joke almost everyone was making about 5k a month just working 5 shifts per week. between increased shares, commission cuts and drop in traffic it has become very difficult to make that kind of money. They are now employees yet treated the same as before. The potential is there to make good money. This is a great place to work if you like working weekends evenings, and or working a lot. This job looks great on a resume. highly motivated people will come alive with cellular sales.

Cons

Having to work with people who "clerk the opportunity" Constant comission cuts from verizon, and also cellular sales to it's reps. Low inventory. no paid time off, terrible benefits. you may make $50 on a sale, but if it deacts you get charged back the full commission amount from verizon which could be more than $200. you are charged full retail cost for missing inventory. Dealer cost on phones and accessories are rediculously inflated. If they put as much effort into retaining and rewarding the quality reps and not so much effort on just hiring anyone with a heartbeat, the company would be so much better. some stores are terribly slow and on top of that the stores are always overstaffed because they dont want customers to wait at all, ever. It doesnt matter how many people are on the share , cellular sales makes the same either way so they dont care.

Pros

there's a lot of flexibility, it's great for self motivated individuals, for the most part coworkers are fun to work with

Cons

completely commission based, turnover rate is high, the company can't keep employees because we've just switched from private contractors to employees (as of Jan 2012) and before the switch sales reps were always empowered i.e. we were in charge of our business. Now we're employees and they've taken away some of the perks of being a business owner but want us to have the same responisbility level and mentality of a small business owner i.e. same job less perks.
