Pros

You meet a lot of cool people. Discounts on accessories, though they're marked up insanely to begin with. Lots of time to relax and read or play on your phone. We got Chick-Fil-A at meetings sometimes.

Cons

Where do I even begin. Basically you are set up to fail from the start. This is a glorified pyramid scheme where the company profits off of your labor and takes every opportunity to make YOU pay for the privilege of working there. I lasted 6 months and never saw a single commission check. The managers drive luxury cars and will occasionally stop in to the stores to find fault with your performance. You're held responsible for all inventory- If a customer steals an accessory while your back is turned, it's taken out of your check. If the system glitches and doesn't attach a contract to an account, you're charged full price for the phone and the customer gets a free phone. You could call the customer and try to lure them back in to redo the contract, but most of the time they didn't and you just ended up just buying them a phone. Any fraud- yup you guessed it, your fault and taken out of your check even if you took all precautions to prevent it. Pretty sure this is flat out illegal in many states. You're pushed to sell outdated LG phones with known issues to customers who come in to buy an iPhone or a Samsung. If they return the phone(and they will), you lose any commission you might have made off of the sale, and if the returned phone has any scratches or signs of use you're charged the full price of it. And get this- if you yourself use an iPhone, they harass you to buy an Android phone to, I dunno, set some sort of example. I had an iPhone and I was penalized by being given last pick in schedules. I even tried to apply for a dealer account so I could get an Android just to shut them up, but I guess my credit wasn't good enough so I had to come out of pocket for a new phone to get management off my back. Another girl had to dip into her savings to buy an Android phone full price and her plans to move out of her parents' house were set back. OH! And you have to give out your personal phone number to customers so they can reach you 24/7. I was harassed on numerous occasions by male customers looking for a date. Unpaid 7am meetings an hour away, no travel compensation, expectations to use your personal car & phone to conduct business. I've worked for corporate VZW too and even they reimburse you for travel and provide a business phone. No breaks or lunches, if you're lucky you can run out to grab some fast food in between swings. Lying to customers is the only way to make it in this company. If you don't pad the truth or outright lie, you won't get the deal because they tack on all kinds of extra fees($1 fee for cash payments, $35 "setup fee" to take the phone out of the box and log you into your Google or iCloud account, $75 restocking fee even on defective phones, etc) and customers will rightfully walk if you're honest with them. I can't even count how many customers I had to talk down from switching after the last rep screwed something up or tacked on a bunch of hidden services to their account. The top reps were the smooth-talking politician types, or the ones who devoted all of their waking hours both on & off the clock to networking and trying to pull in customers. I saw more than one nervous breakdown while I worked there. I got fired when my sales suffered after I had a car accident which resulted in me being out for a week with a concussion. I had to get my shifts covered and to 'motivate me' to bring my sales back up, they stuck me in the slowest store out in hicktown that got maybe 2 customers per day. When I asked how I was supposed to conjure up sales out of thin air, I was told to go into the customer database and cold-call people to come in and upgrade their phones. You can imagine how much people appreciated having their day interrupted by a sales pitch. I was actually relieved to get fired. This company is so unethical and abusive that I can't understand why Verizon still affiliates with them. Almost all of my coworkers will tell you the same story too so I'm forced to believe all the 5 star reviews are paid or coerced. I smell a class-action lawsuit in their future and I'll be happy to participate in it.

Pros

You get to dress profesional and learn about technology.

Cons

They trick you with the commission, you make $5000 and you only see $3000 and they don't explain anything, the commission system is confusion and I believed they like to keep it that way, they only way you can make money here is trough scamming your costumer since they have an unfair shared system when you have to split $20 comms into 6 other sales people that don't do anything, also you get to see Max 2 costumer per day, they also have a draft system of 12.50 an hr which they charged back every month so you always owe them money since they kill your commission with charges backs, high tax rate and manual overrides nobody seems to explain.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Feedback is always helpful and we thank you for taking the time to share yours. Our highest priority is to be sincere and honest in our interactions with our clients and our employees. Your experience in that situation is not representative of the typical employee experience. We do work off a draw against your commissions. You are advanced your hourly wages every two weeks and that advance is recouped from your commission check. This way you earn up to three checks a month rather than only one check a month. You mentioned sharing commissions with other sales representatives. You also are receiving a portion of their sales too so the sharing works out. Our goals is to provide our sales representatives with tools they need to succeed. Our sales mission is not to just wait on customers who walk in our stores, but rather reach out to our existing customers and let them know about our current promotions and plans and features that would benefit them. Thank you again for leaving a review. We appreciate the time you spent with us and wish you the best.

Pros

The interactions with customers could sometimes be enjoyable.

Cons

The directors do not care about the reps. They only care about the bottom line. There were many times they slipped up when going over commissions and how they allocate the charges. This made it clear and solidified a few of the shady processes they use to grow the bottom line without care of the reps pockets and double dipping (e.g. Programming fees and "no restocking fees") They have inconsistent and questionable practices. For example, they charge their employees for all lost/stolen merchandise. Not only do they charge the reps, they charge the full retail price so they can profit rather than replace products. The spiff on devices also change regularly and are not kept accessible to all reps. This makes reconciling commission checks nearly impossible because there is no way to determine the vaps and spiffs for a specific device on a specific date. The commissions are supposed to be split 50/50 with company and rep but it was confirmed that is not true. They require reps to drive excessive distances for mandatory meetings at unsafe hours without compensation. The company will charge the rep the full cost of a device if it were sold to a "fraudulent" customer even after the rep asks all the proper qualifying questions and determined the consumer did not appear to be fraudulent. There is a lot of favoritism amongst leadership roles and subordinates. Leadership will look the other way if high performing reps are selling unethically but will punish the other reps for the same practices. There is no actual sales training. It's all fluff and generic information. They do not teach sales techniques or proper ethical sales practices. They do not take the time teach reps how to overcome objections which is significantly important in sales. Commissions are not clear in any way, shape or form. They sugar coat everything when they speak and have no clue how anything works. If you ask the trainers a question, it's a vague politician-style answer. If you ask again they will have you ask someone else. The draw system is like no other. The commissions cover the 2 previous months of draw. You pay yourself an advance of your commission. They do not compensate you for the excessive number of meetings regardless of how far you have to drive. Ask most employees and you will find the majority of the company has no idea what the draw pays per hour, how the commission pay structure works or how to track the commission per device/accessory.
