Stepping Stone Job

Pros

The best part of the job was being able to have your hands on the latest phone before anyone else and being able to improve your customer service and technical skills. They also provided a discount on your Verizon bill as well.

Cons

Driving out of town to different stores without gas reimbursement (~100 miles to and from), favoring specific employees, long hours especially if closing, monthly unpaid store meetings, reprimands were not consistent and changed based on who the person was, pushing certain phones on customers or won't make as much money, forced to come in on your day off if no one else would, having to answer your phone and deal with work even when you're off.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate the time you spent with us and wish you the best.

Easiest sales job around

Pros

You get to sit in the A/C and talk to people all day. Co-workers make it a fun atmosphere.

Cons

100% Commission Only. New hires don’t get paid for two months however do receive draw checks. The first commission check will have roughly five draws taken out. That means most reps will be in the negative unless they post $5,000 on the board the first month they are on the floor. I started 7 yrs ago and the average age of the reps was around 35 and it was seen as a career. Now the average age is 20 and it’s more of a stepping stone for college kids. Turnover is atrocious. Little to no room for advancement with no structural ladder to follow to attain a higher position. Shove a HUM in the bag or else!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. In reference to one of your cons about the draw checks for new hires, we recently adjusted our draw policy which completely changes the possibility for more than two draw checks to be taken out. Now, the most anyone will experience is the two draw checks for the hours they worked during that commission month. Please reach out to someone in your local leadership to have the new draw schedule explained to you. Feedback is always helpful and we appreciate yours.
