Great Experience So Far

Pros

I've worked at quite a few large health organizations and while Centene may not be up to date in some aspects, it is a pretty decent place to work. This is my second time working here and this time around has been pretty great. My team and management are supportive and thorough on what is needed and expected. Benefits are much better than the last place I was at and my only gripe is the pay. It was lower than what I was hoping for but the low stress, good worklife balance and benefits make up for it. It's not terribly low just not what I was expecting for this position and my experience.

Cons

Multiple platforms to familiarize yourself with and external teams can be demanding and rude.

Pros

Good Benefits, Flexible Work Schedule (has some limitations based on market), Inclusion Groups, 1:1 staffing in a regular basis

Cons

The expectations in UM have increased so significantly that this goal is not met, this effects your raise because you aren't meeting expectations. New auditing tool by a third party non-clinical team undermines your clinical judgement. Promises career growth but is stagnant. Constant reorganizing the leadership to eliminate or consolidate roles allowing minimal abilities to move up through the company. Job duties as assigned focuses of administrative duties. Expects completion of roles outside your hiring without compensation or career growth. (Workgroups, projects) Always short staffed and takes months to backfill positions then an additional several months to train. Frequent changes in work processes, these are not effectively distributed to the UMs. No access to market policies but held to market policy standards. Has removed some benefits such as internet compensation, CEUs, bonuses.
