Pros

None at all...the guards, aka senior management, make sure of that

Cons

Bad management, bad pay, bad benefits, no personal growth possible, questionable business practices, employees treated like prisoners, or at best, kindergartners

Pros

If you don’t respect yourself or others, this is the place to work.

Cons

Management, Training, Respect for fellow colleagues, The opposite of a Theraputic Environment. Management of the facility is horrendous. Full of dry drunks, and inexperienced staff, this place is ripe to set up perfectly for new employees to fail. If you respect yourself and really want to work in a positive atmosphere, this is NOT the place for you. Heed this warning. The management is this residential program is HORRIBLE. The upper management in this company is a JOKE.

Pros

It was a great experience working in a California prison! Got to help many people! Good benefits.

Cons

Learning what and how to do things is challenging because no guidance is given for weeks - even when you ask! Then you get reprimanded for not knowing! You're on your own. They're Lacking a sense of teamwork(starting with the supervisors) Unfortunately, supervisors only give their time and attention to a select few. It can also be challenging because the rules change day to day - and often only one person is given this information! When something changes; such as a last minute meeting, hopefully that person lets you know! (If they don't it can be embarrassing). Short staffed. You take on extra work, then your own work piles up because there is NO O/T - and you are expected to do your work somehow, even though it's NOT possible if you are also covering someone else! Working very hard will not get you recognized, will not get you promoted, and won't even get you a "thank you."
