Shameful that the abuse continues

Pros

There were some great employees. Not sure how many of them are left.

Cons

Dr. Lora Hodges has the worst interpersonal skills and leadership tactics that I have ever encountered. Count how many times you find the word 'bully' in these reviews. Clearly she reads them all and to be honest, from my experience with her, I think she takes some power from knowing people fear her. But deep down it must feel awful. I talk to more and more amazing and brilliant people who have left and we all know that the Board is stacked in her favor, enough so that they are clearly willing to sacrifice the reputation as well as blow all sorts of time and money on the continued restructuring of the departments. The good people that choose to stay must just be waiting on her exit because besides that they are just being bystanders to the abuse. Or they have their own connections to her. And they should also look a little deeper into their new hires and how some of then present themselves on social media. So much respect and integrity lost since the new leadership took hold. The Board could finally put all of this drama to rest if they let her go. So many incredibly strong employees would return. And Lora, your generic and meaningless replies to these comments are a waste of time.

WAKE UP! It's time for new leadership!

Pros

The work this organization is doing, (in spite of the Executive Director who repeatedly harasses, intimidates, and bullies the employees) is helping to continue the mission of reaching out to children. With a replacement of leadership, things could truly flourish and make an impact in every school, every day. This company has the potential to make a huge impact if the ED were replaced.

Cons

In yet another fallacious review that the ED herself has written on this page, "These attacks on Dr. Hodges' character and her leadership skills stem from racism, and people who do not want to accountable for producing high-quality work" could not be further from the truth. Employees are working themselves to the point of exhaustion around the clock, only to be told they are worthless idiots, until they finally are abused and beaten down enough that they are forced to walk away. Then lies are spread about the reason they left to try to cover up the truth (as others have said, smoke and mirrors are her specialty) and they are replaced with one of the Executive Directors friends or family members who have no knowledge or background about the organization. This has nothing at all to do with racism. This has to do with the lack of respect and lies that the Executive Director continues to have for the employees and the organization year after year. Great leaders and ALL of our knowledge is walking out the door.

Pros

The goal of the company is noble and they have potential if there is a major change in leadership, organization, and culture.

Cons

The company actively and purposefully does not practice what they preach. Communication from the top down is at best non-existent and at worst abusive. There is regular gaslighting from leaders that contributes to a culture of mistrust, fear, and work trauma. Half of the directors are not qualified for or knowledgeable about the work they are charged with and it shows. Turnover across the company is high and there's a good reason for that. The reason the turnover is high is not because of the "high expectations" of the company some reviews here state. Intelligent, talented, ambitious people have left due to the fact that they know their value and refuse to continue be berated and to exist in the horrific environment.
