Pros

Meet nice clients and feel inspired at first but that’s really it. No other pros.

Cons

Horrible training procedures, it does not prepare you even though they advertise this as a beginner job to start a new field. They don’t pay you for commuting to multiple places, they hardly train you, they don’t pay you much for their terrible 9-5 training, they don’t care about you even though they are desperate for you, they don’t really do anything if you’re being harassed by parents, they just want you to fill their schedules for money. They ask A LOT from you from the start, I literally had to pay some money to start this job and go above and beyond even though I quickly realized they wouldn’t do the same for me.

Pros

1. The families and working with the kids 2. Supportive Clinical teams 3. Flexible hours 4. Competitive pay

Cons

1. Inconsistent hours: families are prone to cancelling last minute and you might not get paid 2. Training should be more consistent throughout the year 3. High turnover rate for Behavioral Specialists

Pros

I used to love it here. I have a great, overall manageable caseload, and I love my clients and their families. Remote-work/telehealth available and well-managed. Very diverse. Great benefits, good PTO, and paid holidays.

Cons

Training is horrible at all levels. Position is hourly and really needs to be salaried. Lack of support/supervision from high-level staff. Lack of communication and transparency. Has become a “just get it done” culture, Too many admin/nonbillable job responsibilities. Productivity requirements too high for hourly position. Too many clients, not enough staff. No in-house translators and very few staff who speak other common languages for this area. High turnover from constant burnout due to too many tasks and not enough time. No RBTs, and the BTL1 credential is a joke.
