Pros

reward of helping patients, good benefits, professional coworkers and staff

Cons

poor management and internal organization. poor and inconsistent scheduling (don't blame the schedulers, they were doing the best they could and would pressured by upper management to just get the visits seen no matter what), poor communication, with therapists being overworked and expected to take greater than ideal workload which adversely affected patient care and employee satisfaction. Like many home health companies, extensive time spent on documentation, emphasis on hitting numbers and Medicare guidelines.

Pros

Good therapists. Nice patients. Some good training depending on who’s helping you. Some nice nurses. Obtain new software to reduce redundancy, get rid of bullies who have no business working in healthcare. Healthcare is about pt care not egos. Eliminate multiple layers of management and reduce bureaucracy. Improving field worker time with up to date technology saves time and time is money.

Cons

Literal sweat shop rehab mill transferred from rehab care to Kindred with same punitive sweat shop behaviors. Overworked, unethical practices, underpaid, dishonest with employees, unable to call hr, poor mileage, multiple meetings that have nothing to do with you, multiple mistakes on pay checks, archaic computer systems. If you want to work 24/7 days per week, this is the job for you. High turnover due to total burnout. Poor benefits and poor pay not equal to 24/7 work week. Mandatory weekend work. No work life balance. Inconsistent training with multiple teachers making it difficult almost next to impossible to learn the computer system within proper time frame. This is done intentionally. Lots of bullying from director and case managers just to make work life more difficult. All listed above cons if that’s not difficult enough to have all cons listed above and have director and case managers trying to throw a wrench in your day is not enough for you. Than this is the place for you. Good luck.

Pros

The job is very rewarding. Interaction with seniors in the community is a high point. There are so many great people that you encounter everyday - referral sources, community leaders, etc. It's a blessing to work in this industry and for Kindred at Home

Cons

There is occasional after hours requirements. But, if you give 110% you get 110% rewards.
