Pros

Working an office job at CMU is a great experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to lend a hand. I came out of this job with a number of skills that I didn't have when I came in, particularly organizational skills.

Cons

Oftentimes there was little to do, which isn't a terrible thing since I was able to get homework done. I also didn't find my job particularly challenging, which is a must if you're looking not just to make some money while you're a student, but to gain some practical knowledge that will benefit you in the future.

Same Terrible Trend of a Lack of Tenure Track Positions

Pros

The facilities are really good with a few strong faculty who have vision for where the art department could go.

Cons

A lack of initiative to bring the art department to where it could be to keep up with other institutions. Typical of too many higher ed institutions currently, CMU hires temporary full time employees in place of what should be tenure track positions, allowing insulting pay with high expectations and no job security.
