Coworkers are awesome, but caseload was too big
Pros
-Coworkers (at the therapist, aide, and NRS level) are awesome and come to work everyday wanting to help people -Patients are awesome. If you want to make a difference in people's lives it's great because you get to spend so much time with the patients and get to know them. So, this can be incredibly rewarding. -I felt like the compensation was good -Most people there really do want a make a difference and help people, so they work really hard to be creative to get the patient's needs met within the limitations of their insurance coverage
Cons
-When you get up to case manager level and above it's a little hit or miss... some of them are helpful but generally they don't provide great support -When you bring up concerns you'll generally just hear that "well, this is the way we've always done it" or they just say "too bad" -Training is disorganized and not very helpful in dealing with this population. You spend a lot of time watching videos and reading things that aren't very helpful when you're actually working with a live patient -They admit way more patients than the current staff can safely supervise. A group of patients can be left under minimal supervision if several staff members are needed to take one patient to the bathroom or deal with a behavioral issue. One-on-one therapy is practically unheard of.
