      Innovative products but Amateur management

      Pros

      The great asset for Cepheid is its capacity to innovate. The GeneXpert, is a revolutionary product that gives the company a big step ahead of the competition. Customers are usually very happy with the products from Cepheid. Company is growing fast and lot of efforts are put into innovation, several new assays in the pipeline; then there are many career opportunities. I worked in European office of Cepheid, where the salary is decent but not exceptional, the working conditions are fair too.

      Cons

      Sometimes I had the feeling that there is no captain is the boat ! Management is a big problem at Cepheid, the level of amateurism is just amazing and will put the company at risk someday. Most of managers just act like bosses and clearly are not competent in their roles Too much hesitation and lack of preparation in the projects I have been involved. Reaction is very slow when quality issues are popping up, problems are often minimized.
