Great Company in Transition

Pros

This is a family company and they truly treat their employees accordingly. Great people and great opportunities for growth. Through ups and downs in the economic marketplace, the company continues to invest in people and the business.

Cons

The current makeup of the physical locations is currently challenging (multiple buildings in relatively close proximity), however this is being addressed with a state of the art facility in Oak Brook that will open in 2017. In the past 3-5 years, there has been a drop in overall employee satisfaction for various reasons, however I believe that as we transition with our new CEO the company culture will drastically improve.

Few pros, lots of cons.

Pros

Great people, great products. Higher than average salary.

Cons

Too many decisions made at the very top and the people who are expected to do the work are there strictly to execute with little to no input or stake. A lot of experienced veterans in the company (20, 30, 40+ years) that are too stuck in doing things the same old way and resistant to change.

Quality is Key

Pros

Return to family values or at least so they say. Good salary but benefits have declined. Some genuinely nice people but not many.

Cons

They continue to expect some groups to do all the heavy lifting for cost savings while others spend recklessly on fishing trips, offsite meetings that are fronts for happy hour and excuse for the group to eat a nice dinner and drink a lot. How about the leadership take a look at the top heavy director level especially in marketing. That's where there are productivity opportunities instead of cheapening the quality of our products. Half of them are useless and everyone wonders what they do all day. The other half are servants to the head of marketing that dictates everything so whether they are good or not who even knows.
