Pros

Work from home and little else

Cons

Low pay, busy work. Dean demands a weekly “donation” of tutoring hours. Adtalem makes $400 million in profit per year. Visiting Profs make maybe $20k per year but we are forced to “donate” several hours per week as per new Dean. Dean makes six figures per year, is she “donating” hours? Shameless.

Pros

Student relationships and interactions were mostly positive

Cons

High turnover, toxic leadership. I was bullied and harassed. I basically was expected to be available 24/7 and when on pto was expected to work. No limit to the amount of work given.

Pros

Prepared me for my next position, taught me what I didn’t want in a job.

Cons

I’ve worked for the company for 3 years. They are always changing protocols. One on one meetings weekly with managers turn into “why haven’t you signed up this student” & if they had a legitimate reason for not being ready but the manager would pull up your call with them and break down every section & ask why you aren’t asking enough open ended questions. You get graded on the conversation and if you were able to sign them up afterwards. During regional meetings they would talk about how it’s important to take care of our mental health & walk away from our computers for 15min breaks but when we did do that then managers would IM chat you like crazy asking what you are doing. Auto Dialer was a nightmare!!! This thing would just call after call after call without warning & you couldn’t switch yourself into a break because it was always going & if you were busy with appointments and meetings earlier, heaven forbid you take your lunch after 4pm. Managers played favorites & it was very noticeable & annoying. Every time it was time for a raise, there was always something wrong found to dock your points on calls or knit pick so you don’t get a raise. This job was so toxic for my mental health & I dreaded going to work even though it was remote. ***AND IF YOURE A STUDENT READING THIS, after you register for classes if you seriously don’t want to start anymore then DO NOT LOG IN FOR PREVIEW WEEK OR INTRODUCING YOURSELF, that’s how they get you to pay for part of the class even when you didn’t do the assignments yet. So just don’t log into anything at all. But he prepared for calls 3x a day for the first 90 days
