Pros

Some really good, supportive middle management and tech staff in the company, going way beyond to support their customers. Good perks including private healthcare and good pension scheme. WFH even before the pandemic. Some great teams with a strong customer ethic doing great things.

Cons

Where do I start? As other reviews have stated, there are not enough developers to keep up with our competition. Management still has old fashioned ideas about what security is and commitment to cloud products is paying lip service. Company already overtaken by PAN and soon to be overtaken by Fortinet. One senior exec told a room of people at a Town Hall that he had missed his targets for six consecutive quarters, who gets away with this? Cloud R&D totally maxed out all of the time, no slack in the system to go back and fix bugs in products, they have to move on to the next "me too" feature. Spend some of the $4B you have in the bank that you boast about at every quarterly earnings call on keeping the company relevant. Comp plans are so complicated that even Stephen Hawking can't work them out. If they can stiff you on commission or bonuses, they will. External training done on a shoestring, so any cloud training will need to be done in your own time and on your own dime.

Pros

Remote work, learning opportunities, exposure to technology.

Cons

Pay is lowest in the industry. No one can figure out commission. They keep coming up with loopholes to not pay commission, discouraging going above and beyond. There’s no incentive to excel. Extremely bro culture, almost toxic. Men keep manterrupting you if you’re a female. Mostly mediocre men thrive here. The quality of the products are subpar. Very buggy and don’t integrate well. Customers have to open many SR-s due to faulty code. Development and QA needs improving. Despite their bragging about 1500 people working in R&D, it doesn’t reflect in the quality, unless they write the code half asleep. Customers constantly complain about TAC, which is common in this industry, but it is at a whole other level at Check Point.
