the pay is pretty low

There is no clarity or help from HR to grow. They don't do a good job at evaluating employee potential and strengths. Management is so concerned about just checking off a few boxes that there is no creativity, new projects, or rewarding creative solutions when employees do come up with them. I went to management multiple times asking if we could open a different department within my own that I could lead and was told to just continue doing what I was doing with side projects. And that brings me to my next point: they're cheap. They just don't want to pay more. Care for employee retention and happiness worsened. Salaries are atrocious and raises are embarrassing.
