Chevron is a great place to work out of college. It has a very casual atmosphere and the job is a good tranisition.

Great 9/80 schedule. Huge 401 K bonus. Competitve Salary. Relaxed Atmosphere.

Cons

Easy to get forgotten in such a large company. Very political when it comes to promotions.

CVX IT...slow and mindnumbing at times, but comfortable...if you like rotting

Pros

It's a slow-pace environment where you can get comfortable. No micromanaging by supervisors (although that may be unique to my experience) Decent work-life balance.

Cons

Very conservative culture - typical to the oil and gas industry, seemingly. A bit slow moving and not completely compatible with Gen Y expectations. People are very tolerant of "everyone's ideas"...this is good, for the most part, but I find it a bit tedious to have to listen to all the BAD ideas and thoughts.
