Pros

Co-workers are great really get along with them and we work well as a team, when we are allowed to.

Cons

Not what was promised at all constantly changing procedures and personnel been there 6 months had 3 managers, if you want to spend time with your family on holidays forget it we have worked every holiday except for Christmas really!! Work you do is not appreciated you can always do more or do it better never a compliment from management! This company needs to realize it is not Amazon treat employees right or it will eventually go under. I'm there until I get hired elsewhere.

Pros

1. It is located near a chipotle

Cons

Where to even begin...... I had no idea other individuals were being paid as little as 11 or even 12.50, I was in shock when I read the reviews on salary. The reason for this is the amount of garbage and stress they press upon you for the small amount they pay you to endure it. All the small reviews that seem to appear positive are completely from management. You would think if someone was content and happy with their job they would want to share all about it right? Not just a brief 3 sentences just to boost up the companies ratings. In conclusion: sad. Lets start with the training process of Chewy.com. I'd say this was probably the most vein cutting training I have ever endured. Why? They speak to you as if you are a child and they also treat you as such. If you do not pass the first week of theoretically learning to use a system you do not pass it. Come the second week, they have you on the floor and expect you to perfectly execute the following; phone calls, e-mails and chats all simultaneously. Managers / Leads: They routinely walk around, behind you looking at what your working on constantly. Everyone in the office communicates via skype. Skype is a big, fat group chat where leads send messages such as "come on, open e-mails!". They seriously harass the CSR's as if they are cattle, and they are on their high horse herding them. I have worked in bars and restaurants for a long time and I can tell you I was treated better there than at Chewy. Also, you are required to let them know when your going to the bathroom and if you can go to the bathroom or go on a scheduled lunch break ... so lets say your hungry and its 1PM, that's too bad Chewy says your allowed to eat at 1:45 or 2PM. Chewy consist of cults, everyone has their own cliques and even sadder everyone is against each other and insist on "snitching" on other co workers. The management will tell you "theirs tons of growth for opportunity", but what start up company doesn't say that? If their was such growth for opportunity why is it that the trainers are just regular CSR's that have been there for over 1 year? Wouldn't you think that they are indeed the ones that are knowledgeable and experienced? Instead management hires close friends and then after 2 months they are given a promotion. I've met so many hard working CSR's that I feel would be 100 times a better candidate as a lead instead of the pathetic excuse they have hired now. I'd say all of the above is the better side of Chewy, the worst side would be the micromanaging. Every single person micromanages all the CSR's at all time. All of your work is constantly being checked, one is almost scared to submit anything for fear of being terminated on something that is a complete mistake. When you make a mistake it is copy and pasted and sent to everyone in the company, or they will reprimand you in front of your co - workers.. I have never had a job where anyone would do that to anyone. In normal companies, they call you into a isolated area and they rationally explain to you what you did wrong and how you can fix it. However Chewy seems to think otherwise. Piece of advice for those of you out there, if your strapped for cash work here temporarily and once you find somewhere better, leave. This is not a job to have long term, don't let the paws and smiles fool you, this place is toxic. After 1 month you will start to regret your decision.

Pros

Bagels and coffee on Mondays, the building where its located is very nice and its located right off I95.

Cons

Ok .. Lets start from the beginning: when you start training you are required to undergo 2 weeks of lesser paid training. They cram a large volume of information that you are required to master in 2 weeks time. The trainers were micromanaging the hell out of everything I did ( I should have taken that as an early sign). Within 2 weeks time you are tested and put on the floor with a headset on and expected to know how to do everything after you have learned everything in theory. If you do not pass this last day of training you are asked to leave. Once you start, you say to yourself "wow this place is awesome, everyone is so friendly" .. yes, they were friendly when you shadowed them but soon after you realize everyone has their own clique and you realize it was just an act. EVERYTHING is micromanaged to an extreme. If you mess up with any small task it will be massed e-mailed to *everyone* in the company. Their "leads" have rounds where they walk around and literally look at your screen to confirm that you're working. Communication is done via Skype in a group chat where its a complete fiasco half the time and people are posting when they leave their cubicle, when they go to the bathroom, if they have permission to go to the bathroom, and the list goes on and on. Once in awhile you will receive a message from a lead saying "lets work on emails." You are required to simultaneously perform the following while on a phone call: live chat, email, and handling the customers on the phone. Weekly, you are required to write 40 personalized postcards. Unfortunately there isn't enough time to do your job's responsibilities so most employees take home the cards. Why should your employees be required to take home work that we're not being paid to do and outside of the job's description!??!?! The managers are severely underpaid to babysit a large volume of 20 something year olds. Everything you do there is monitored and all the work that you process is checked a second time later so that managers and owners have an opportunity to personally shame you. They focus on telling you what you did wrong instead of what you did right. There are no pay raises at Chewy.com because "chewy.com is not giving any raises at this time" and most likely never. And if you happen to pull out your cell phone to check the time, YOU WILL be reprimanded. Some of the leads acquired their position within one to three months because they have friends in high places despite other individuals who are very hard working and have been with the company for years. It is pure politics at Chewy.com if you don't fit in, you're driven to quit or are fired.
