Okay, I started back in September and it was honestly a fun, friendly experience. I really enjoyed coming to work and talking to the customers (they were all so friendly) Sometimes I would be on the phone for over an hour with customers who just loved to chat and were so sweet. Then November came around which meant Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We were back to back with angry customers who were not happy about shipping delays due to high volume of orders plus Chewy ships with Fedex who really can't get anything right so it makes already angry customers even more angry. I really thought that it would blow over and things would go back to the way they were when starting but man was I wrong. From December all the way up to March employees started dropping like flies either being fired for attendance, or anything they could think of or they were quitting due to how poorly you get treated by management. Due to being so low staffed they called for so much overtime which is not a bad thing but no one wanted to even work their normal 8 hours the calls were so bad. I made it until about march when I spoke to someone who screamed at me and called me ugly names for something I could not control. She asked to be transferred to a supervisor and the supervisor gave her a free order, a free t-shirt and over nighted her order basically a thank you for treating our employee so poorly. I started having mental break downs thinking about going in and actually had to be put on medication. My last week there I was coming up with every reason possible to leave early or not come in at all bc it was non stop panic attacks and being yelled at for hold times because we were not staffed up enough. They have a very strict attendance policy, feedback time (you must leave notes on every account and calls come so fast that you have no time in between calls) so If you choose to work here BE ON TIME (they will get you for one minute late), Get ready to take back to back calls with no bathroom breaks only on your 3 scheduled breaks and a 30 minute personal time, stay on ready, and get ready to get treated like robots by management because they will make you bend over backwards to make a customer happy (which is why so many customers will be very demanding with discounts, free shipping, ect. They know we have to and will do it for them if they speak to the right people) I never post reviews but I care about mental health and if you are someone who truly can't take being walked all over or struggle this is not the place for you. I had two amazing leads that truly were there for me and my team but most of them just care about saving them selfs over their employees. They will tell you that everyday at chewy is like vacation well I'm here to tell you its not.
