Pros
- Dog-friendly workplace - No "firing right before vest" for employees receiving equity - Deadlines are reasonable
Cons
- Too many engineers on "the next big thing" getting all of the praise - Value = supply / demand ratio: someone on a one-person project is more valuable than someone on a 5-person team project! - Lot of emphasis on capitalizable hours, questionable benefit to doing this. But not too bad. - Promotions based on review boards exacerbate the above, emphasizing high-visibility projects.
