Pros

Benefits, PTOs Meaningful work Some people have a teamwork mindset

Cons

Some people has none teamwork mindset No strategic thinking. Everything flows with the urgent topic of the moment No LGBT diversity focus programs for staff No career advancement process (you'll only see exec directors moving. But managers and below stay stalled)

Pros

Helping others, contributing to society, having a certain degree of autonomy in your daily routine, forming impactful relationships with colleagues and students, great benefits

Cons

Frequent admin changes can make your life miserable, declining enrollments and overall budget mismanagement leading to layoffs and less job security, the possibility of violence (I've suffered 3 batteries by students for which there were virtually no consequences to the offenders), and lower pay than peers with comparable educational attainment.
