You get a great chance to network with all stakeholders who mostly care about children. Lots of flexibility and no supervising.

Cons

no structure, no clear expectations, no accountability. difficult environment to work due to financial crisis and never ending threats of lay offs

Pros

Urban area where the challenges are for the students. Making diversity work is good for society as a whole, overlooking superficial differences. Dedicated teachers working under repressive conditions.

Cons

Overcrowded classrooms. Increasingly austere conditions. Crazy employees entrenched in the system. Lot of students require more support for learning disabilities than are given support. Poor monitoring of staff activities and support.

Pros

Great opportunity to be involved with children and help in developing their mindsets. Student growth and successes are there and possible to achieve.

Cons

The Board is top heavy and unfairly distributes funding. Most principals, who feel like puppets, are under extreme pressure which always trickles down through the ranks, and unfortunately impacts the children. So... it sucks.
