Pros

There’s job security, being in the SUD and mental health field. There’s some flexibility with your scheduling. They offer a lot of trainings and ability to grow your knowledge of the field.

Cons

There’s no room for growth as an employee. You get a small pay raise when you get licensed but there’s nothing above that. Supervisors make less than the therapists do. It’s a fee for service job so if a client no shows, you don’t get that pay. The money can be inconsistent. There is no overtime.
