Worse than working at Wal-Mart!

Pros

About the only good thing I can say about working at Chipotle was that it was close to my house and we get free lunch there. For lunch we could eat as much as we wanted, chips, guacamole, drinks, burrito, what ever we wanted for lunch, then it was back to work...

Cons

Worst job I've ever had. The manager had this computer program that told him exactly how long it should take to do anything, and when you went to work the manager would set it for how long the program said it should take you do to it and if you weren't done the second it went off, it was hell to pay. The manager would come over and yell shout and belittle you as incompetent and threaten to fire if you weren't done on time net time. Literally the worst job I've ever head, and I've had some bad jobs...

Pros

The food is honestly good and comes from good sources. It has a good health, dental and vision insurance. There is a good opportunity of advancement within the company.

Cons

Your duties far exceeds a normal level. Not enough pay for how much work your doing. Their expectations of your work are too high. Uncomfortable shoes. Not enough break time; only got 10 minute break to eat after only 30 mins of working to then continue working another 7 hours with no break; unbalanced break time.

Pros

Got to work with some very genuine, down-to-earth crew folks in an environment where we all truly supported one another. Its mission, practices and food quality are commendable. There's an emphasis on being fair and generous with customers. There is basically no limit on free food during shifts, and a 50 percent discount when you're not working.

Cons

The turnover, as elsewhere in the fast-food industry, is horrendous. Coworkers are great, but the managers are overbearing, micromanaging, unprofessional, and often extremely condescending – to the point that they drove most of the talented individuals away. I've been asked to work on my break (which, even in the context of "hey could you hand me that," is still illegal and abusive). Crew members are expected to memorize and recite handouts of essential employee characteristics, as well as customer service fundamentals, which I found rather degrading. These stores want cogs; not intelligent, thoughtful people. If you are one of the latter, you will burn out.
