Pros

Pay and benefits are are “decent”; Remote work conditions are well supported.

Cons

Chipotle spends a lot of human capital making unrealistic financial goals. They have become a “employees are a commodity “machine. If you don’t want to do your job, the unstated plan is that you can be replaced. Minimal value is given to the people that make things happen at this company. The operations within the restaurants have become pitiful in many markets.

Pros

Free food and major holidays off

Cons

When people see the salary, they get super excited. Don't be fooled. General Managers " have no personal life " and " this is what you signed up for" as told by area manager and area director. Forced to work 19 hour shifts - day in and day-out with weeks of no days off b/c you are the one that has to cover for being short staffed. Even when you DO manage to get a day off, your boss is calling you to get to the restaurant and help, or get to a meeting, or get on a conference call.... DON'T EVEN DARE making any personal plans, like go out of town or attend any sort of important function on days you manage to get off ! That will get your immediate supervisor against you ! In all reality, as a GM, I was making less than the regular employees with the hours to salary ratio. AVOID becoming management at Chipotle at all costs, it's not worth it!

Pros

The brand and marketing is exciting. If you are someone who is excited for free food and small perks, those are fun. The company has solid values and does a lot of good things with serving more sustainable food. Also with promoting restaurant employees from within which leads to many hourly employees being able to advance into management and earn a good living.

Cons

There is a lot of talk about diversity and inclusion but it feels like a boys club stuck in the past. Barely any positive culture at the office. No process for corporate employees to know how to grow and advance. Recent decisions made this even worse, for example suddenly announcing a mandatory return to the office with no regard for how this would impact employees lives or morale. All employees were required to get vaccinated and those who didn't were let go, but then months later that mandate was dropped, so those employees were let go for no reason? The (female) CPO was abruptly let go with no reason given and HR was moved under other departments. Most of these employees have never even met the chief officers we report to now - total joke.
