Pros

Got to work with some very genuine, down-to-earth crew folks in an environment where we all truly supported one another. Its mission, practices and food quality are commendable. There's an emphasis on being fair and generous with customers. There is basically no limit on free food during shifts, and a 50 percent discount when you're not working.

Cons

The turnover, as elsewhere in the fast-food industry, is horrendous. Coworkers are great, but the managers are overbearing, micromanaging, unprofessional, and often extremely condescending – to the point that they drove most of the talented individuals away. I've been asked to work on my break (which, even in the context of "hey could you hand me that," is still illegal and abusive). Crew members are expected to memorize and recite handouts of essential employee characteristics, as well as customer service fundamentals, which I found rather degrading. These stores want cogs; not intelligent, thoughtful people. If you are one of the latter, you will burn out.

Pros

Free Buritos and drink at lunch, like any other restaurant job.

Cons

You are working under a microscope. They were mostly focused on hiring Hispanics on the floor; out of 40 people who were hired, only 4 were non-hispanic. During the training week, they let all 4 of us go. Funny thing is the store managers and upper management were mostly white, black (non-hispanics). Which was surprising, since you don't need to be able to speak spanish to role a burito, or know how to operate machinery, or better yet, greet customer in a "business/office/upper class" neighborhood.

Pros

Delicious food, great ethics "food with integrity", great concept of restaurant, promotions from within if you have a good GM/Area Manager

Cons

Low pay for the work that's expected, benefits aren't great, human resources don't take reports seriously, late hours when closing
