Pros

I have worked for CHC for almost 2 years. I recently transitioned from LVN to RN. Although I had many offers upon graduating from RN school, I chose to stay with CHC. The team we have in place at this time, has been some of the best co-workers/family I have ever worked with. They are professional and caring. CHC absolutely believes in patient care but also taking care of their team members. Our reputation and relationships in the community is outstanding. Our DOCS is amazing! One of the most important things that stick out to me, are how incredibly ethical I feel our owners are. I never feel there is a grey area. It is either black or white and we do it or we don't. In home health today, that is very important to me as a nurse and being able to work with a company without feeling like my license is on the line. I highly recommend working with CHC. I can say from both standpoints from being an LVN then RN, the compensation is fantastic! Caseload as an LVN and now RN keeps me busy, but I am always home on time and paperwork is streamlined. If you are organized and take pride in your job, you will succeed at CHC. They give you all the tools/support you need.

Cons

I can honestly say I have not experience any cons......

Pros

most of the staff was very friendly.

Cons

i worked there for a year and a half due to the company i worked for for 23 years was bought by choice. their expectations of a persons work ability is impossible for one person to do. they expect a person to do the work of more than one person can do. i would tell anyone i know to never work for these people.

I am very sorry you did not have a good experience following the acquisition of your prior company. We work very hard to be sure in our acquisitions that employees in the acquired company have an opportunity to keep employment. Our leadership spends a great deal of time, money, and effort to help people make the transition and prevent lost jobs through the consolidation. Sometimes those transitions are difficult for employees that are not accustomed to the processes of the new company or the new position they are placed in after the agencies merge. I see that you were in an orders management position. Currently the Tyler office no longer utilizes that position. The billing department requested that position not be filled as they found that it was adding steps to their audit/communication process and increasing their workload. They requested that their department manage orders through audit. They have been very pleased in change and when we have discussed adding an employee back in they have requested we not do so at this time. Our goal in 2017 is for orders management to be completely automated and integrated into the EMR...meaning that orders will move automatically from the electronic medical record to fax to MD and back to the medical record. We are very excited about the program for our nurses, administrators, and billing departments as it will essentially eliminate any labor with the process.

Pros

Fantastic company driven by a compassionate owner and DON. Everyone from office staff, field nurses, therapy and aides all work together to help the patient. We have a great team and company compensates well for your hard work but is family at same time.

Cons

Charting with the current system can be rough but it's manageable. Must have notes in within 24 hrs and with system you can't chart off line and if you have problems with internet then you must do at home and when you have a family life that's hard. It's the only con the company has.

Thank you for your review of Choice. I am so glad you feel the way you do about our company and our staff. We appreciate our employees very much. On the charting we are working hard to improve this aspect of our care and company. We have began a pilot program that will allow for point of care both on and off-line. This should began in the first quarter of 2017. Currently you might also ask your administrator about Kinnser Link. There are videos on this service on Kinnser and it can help with the areas that are not great for internet coverage. It is not perfect for sure but I hope that it can provide you some help. Thank you again for the review and we appreciate all your work!
