Pros

Vacation Policy Discounted Hotel Stays

Cons

It is troubling when companies make decisions that undermine the well-being of their employees. In 2025, Choice Hotels will stop covering GLP-1 drugs like tirzepatide and semaglutide, which are often prescribed for weight loss. Despite claiming to support a diverse workforce, Choice is excluding a medication to employees who struggle with weight management. This seems counter to the values of inclusivity that the company promotes. While GLP-1 drugs can be costly, they are proven to be effective, offering benefits like improved mental health, physical agility, and overall health. It's disappointing that a company would rather wait for employees to develop diabetes before covering a medication that could prevent the condition in the first place.

Thank you for sharing your perspective as a Choice employee. Healthcare coverage decisions are made and reviewed annually based on a number of factors. We strive to make decisions that are in the best interests of all our associates in the face of rising healthcare costs. We offer options for weight management, as part of a comprehensive healthcare plan that supports associates both in their physical and mental health. We value all the feedback received through surveys and have made numerous changes in the last year in response to what we have heard. We appreciate the feedback you have provided and have shared it with Human Resources to continually improve our associate experience.

Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your employment experience at one of our franchised hotels. As a franchisor, Choice Hotels International does not own or operate hotels franchised under its brands, and the hotel staff are employed by the independent owner of the hotel. We recommend that you provide your feedback on the applicable brand site on Glassdoor (e.g., Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, etc.) and identify the particular hotel at which you were employed.
