First question on the questionnaire they send you for a Service Manager job is, What is your average ticket? Now that speaks volumes about Christianity. They put in place owners, who know zero about the auto industry. I as Service Manager am trying to teach my owner the business and frankly, he is just not the brightest bulb in the lamp. Too much to keep up with between the parts, workflow, autoflow, returned parts, core parts, high volume of phone quotes from the coupon shoppers (which they force you to do, versus taking care of customers who are there!!), dispatching shuttle rides, and everything else. High , and I mean lots of hours folks. I did 130 hours in two weeks! They brag about giving you weekends off, but you use your entire weekend to relax, because you got slaughtered all week!!

I just don't understand why we couldn't take any breaks. The regular shop hours were 7-6 I would get to work at 645am and I would leave about 620pm. Sometimes even later if we had to clean the shop. The owners feed you which is nice, BUT working over 12 hours a day with no actual break is not very "Christian". I feel like they used giving us food as an excuse to make more money for the shop. Let me be clear that I was very grateful and blessed to even have a job. But working every single day under those conditions made me physically and mentally ill. I am a good worker and they took advantage of that. Some of my coworkers were lazy and could sit on their phone all day while other did all the work. In the end I decided that life is too short to be unhappy. Especially if I was working 60+ hours a week. The money was not worth it.
