Growing within the company

Pros

There are so many great things about working for Chuck E. Cheese. I started in my teen years and, and through hard work I’ve been able to grow tremendously within the company. What began as a part-time “starter” job turned into a career that I’m proud of and plan to continue building. I started as a cast member and within a year was promoted to a Team 2 position. On my 18th birthday, I was given the opportunity to step into an entry level management role. About a year later, I was promoted again to Senior Manager, and with time , I was offered the chance to become a General Manager. Going up the ladder so quickly has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey, and finally having the opportunity to run my own store has been a great achievement. My next goal is to become a Senior General Manager and I know that with the support of this company, it’s achievable. Some of the biggest pros for me include: • Growth opportunities can happen quickly if you put in the work. There is always room to learn, develop, and move up. • A range of experiences from customer service to food safety, cost of goods, metrics, conflict resolution, and business operations. You are able gain experience that leads into valuable skills. • Being able to create your own culture is rewarding. I run a professional operation, but at the same time, we laugh, have fun, and create an inviting, loving environment. • I feel appreciated here. When you’re doing well, you get the recognition you deserve, and when you’re struggling, you’re offered support. • Our District Manager is great. He is understanding, kind, and flexible. He is not only a leader but also someone I consider a mentor and friend. His advice has helped me both professionally and personally. • We are surrounded with tenure and knowledge. You really never stop learning. • One of the most satisfying parts of this job is watching cast members I hired grow into leaders. It helps me understand that I’m doing my job well. • There are always new promotions, attractions, and changes. Overall, this job has given me so much more than I ever expected when I first started. The opportunities, culture, and people make Chuck E. Cheese a place to help grow a career. My list of pros could go on for pages, but the bottom line is: this company invests in you if you invest in it.

Cons

I don’t have many cons to mention. The only areas I would note is the work/life balance can sometimes be challenging. Manageable, but still a challenge. Additionally, I wish there was a bit more flexibility with pay/salary growth.
