Pros

People in your own store.

Cons

Everyone else. There is absolutely ZERO teamwork. The GM's within the district all talk about each other, and unless you are part of the "inner circle", you will be treated as a second hand employee. You are subliminally encouraged to cheat on sales contests, surveys, etc. This company has no ethics and integrity whatsoever. Forget about seeing your family on the weekends, and forget about trying to run a quality shift. You must beat last years labor no matter what, even if it means sacrificing the guest experience which the company does not care about....until you get a complaint of course, then it's the end of the world.

Pros

Free food. Working with good people. Opportunity to advance up to the GM level.

Cons

As a tenured GM I can say that this company used to be good to work for. I have worked here for over 10 years and was happy until a year ago. CEC was purchased by a conglomerate and all they care about it their bottom line. CEC says that, "Our greatest asset is our people," but that is a lie becuase people don't show up on the left side of Apollo's balance sheet. The company cut all managers pay and hours and expects way more work. I've had great annual reviews 3 years in a row and have not gotten a raise. The companies labor expectations are absolutely ridiculous. It is entirely too stressfull and nothing gets done right. Instead of doing 5 things at 90%, we do 10 things at 50%. As a GM you will spend 90% of your time cleaning, and making/taking orders. The company relies too much on surveys and you will get called everytime you get a negative survey and It makes everything even more stressfull. But we are getting the negative surveys Becuase we don't have enough labor to train everyone properly or staff the business. The entire company has been down in sales for years and they love to blame operations. They make it so GMs can't bonus unless they are up in sales, but the concept is out of date, and GM base salary is ridiculous.

Pros

The company empowers you to run your restaurant like you own it. They are constantly testing/introducing new strategies to best serve the guest. They truly believe in "Every Guest Leaves Happy".

Cons

The roll out of new initiatives is poor at best. The concept had too many components that make it hard to execute 100% due to labor restrictions. New leadership team doesn't value their employees in the field, they make it clear that everyone is replaceable. Metrics are overly used and every aspect of the business is so scrutinized by upper management it makes going to work tough at times. Very demanding.
