A Difficult Company Culture

Pros

There are some talented and hard-working people at Church & Dwight. They have a good portfolio of products and categories to work on and they try develop and promote within the organization as best as they can.

Cons

The culture is overall negative, defensive and combative. While different departments in a corporate world are expected to have some conflicting objectives or tensions, at Church & Dwight there was overt dislike and distrust for people, decisions, processes etc. and an exceptionally high degree of complaining and negativity. There was little open-mindedness, interest in learning from co-workers, trying something new or going after big goals. There is also a great deal of time and energy spent comparing and complaining about bigger competitors/manufacturers rather than improving the skills and value of their owen company. The turnover is quite high and there are very few females in manager positions or above.

Pros

Fantastic pay for the job

Cons

A lot of harassment slides under the radar, especially if management is friends with the accused. They like to swipe a lot under the rug. Not the safest place for a woman to work.

Pros

Pay is competitive for the area

Cons

Lacking diversity from lower to executive management. Laughable that it received high marks for diversity - probably a clue that some of these reviews are either paid or done by HR. Just look at the Executive Management page on their site and you will see very little gender, racial or age diversity in the upper ranks. Job titles are also extremely stingy. Lots of turnover as people look to other places for advancement opportunities.
