      Pros

      Ciena is the most disruptive and visionary company in the Telecom industry, and having the opportunity to drive the changes in technology is just priceless. Working with telecom is not an easy task, but all the employees are excellent team workers and there is not a single challenge that you have to face alone. You can always count on their knowledge and experiences to help you achieve yours and your team's goals.

      Cons

      Some skills can only be aquired through time, and there is no easy way of learning it. Because of that, the company doesn't have many employees, from ages 18 to 30. As a consequence of that, you have a clash of generations and not much to talk about besides work related matters - even when outside of the workplace.

I'm glad to inform that our Talent Acquisition team are working in partnership with our leadership members to provide more diversity to our company, hiring more young talents, women, etc. One of the initiatives focused on young professionals is the Intern Program, started in 2013 in Brazil, where we had 100% success. We have also established partnerships with new universities and brought more women students to the program, as part of our global effort to provide a better gender balance to our business. With the amazing outcome we had in Brazil, now we´re planning to expand it to other countries in CALA, like Argentina and Mexico.
