Employer is flexible in terms of time off; excellent benefits; opportunities for promotion or transfer; promotes personal growth and development

Cons

Not a lot of communication between management and employees; I worked at a satellite branch and it was difficult to access main hospital benefits

Need to like cool-ade.

Pros

The hospital is known locally as a great place to work (there's a lot of effort and expense invested in PR), and nationally as a top hospital, so that helps. There really aren't too many things to complain about. Its a comfortable place to work, generally, without all the insane stresses that exist in so many other companies.

Cons

- HR doles out cool-ade by the gallon, but as long as you keep your mouth shut, smile, and pretend that everything is rosie, then life is essentially tolerable. - It is vitually impossible to get more than a 10% increase no matter what you do. Promotions, higher position job, perfect evaluation... won't matter. Whatever income you start with is what you get. You might get an increase, but not much in any case. - There are a few cut throat managers, but maybe its asking too much not to have a few in such a large org. - Managers are way too removed from workers, which makes them seen arrogant and full of themselves. Some inbreeding; i.e., relatives given jobs they don't otherwise qualify for.
