Pros

-flexible work hours (@home etc) -good management (really depends on the BU/group, but this one was top notch). they stick up for their employees. -impetus is on the employee to make career advancement, but if you take initiative and play cards right, you'll be rewarded -- depending on your preferences or personality, this could be a good or bad thing. -good brand name for future careers elsewhere

Cons

-highly silo'd organization -unclear priorities or tasks at times -- might be mgmt related -need to know who to ask to get things done (politics). --to qualify this, seems like this would be pretty universal to any workplace, but many have stated it's more prevalent at cisco
