Dear Former Colleague - thank you for your review. Indeed we have demanding deadlines and deliverables - but as a professional accountant you know most such jobs have busy periods each month or during the year. I imagine you learned a lot here about complex financial instruments and worked with large, global clients - excellent exposure and skills for your professional toolkit. On behalf of Citco - let me take a moment to thank you for your contributions during your 3 years with us.

Dear Colleague - thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I hope you will take some time to share any concerns you have with your local HR Partner. Managers sometimes need coaching and feedback too so that they can make the appropriate corrections. HR can help get those messages across.

Pros

- It is a global company. Opportunities to transfer from one office to another - Large clients and different financial instruments to work with - Great non-monetary benefits

Cons

- No work life balance. Expect to work overtimes. - Micromanaging seems to be the culture. - Expect people to own up on their mistakes, not on the reviewer and definitely not the manager. Its your fault alone. But in times of good performance, expect manager to get all the credit. - No clear cut policies on promotion. Working harder is not a guarantee for promotional growth, too much politics are involve in the promotional process. People got promoted not on the basis of their wok ethics and performance but rather than who they rub elbows with. - Team restructure every now and then. People move from one team to another team sometimes every two weeks - There is always a feeling that you work in a factory, where every deliverables is submitted on per hour basis

Dear Former Colleague - thank you for highlighting some of the positive aspects of working for Citco. I realize you worked for a very busy office at Citco where indeed there is a high focus on work quality. Our company's reputation is built on the top quality work product and services that we provide to our clients. To meet our SLA's we may need to move resources around a bit with a laser focus on getting deliverables out accurately and on time. There is also a very diligent process in place around promotions - it is in the company's best interest to properly vet our staff and ensure we are choosing those with the best technical and client servicing skills. We take your comments on board regarding a feeling of appreciation for staff's' hard work and will share them with management.
