Thank you for your review. Citco promotes the opportunity for learning and continuous development for all staff and it's great to hear that your experience echoes this. With regards to your comment on work timings I'm not entirely sure what you mean but think you may be referring to the certain periods when it's very busy and where overtime is required. Trust we do try to balance this with policies and practices that support positive well being. We also do review our pay practices regularly to ensure we reward fairly and in line with the local market.

Pros

Free beer in attempt to wash away the regret of applying here in the first place. Good chairs with good lumbar support so your body doesn't break during 12-16 hour days.

Cons

Horrible work/life balance (expect 12-16 hour days once you're done training). Small-minded management. No room for advancement. No training. Understaffed. Expect to eat lunch at your desk daily. Little to no management support. Minimal pay. Pathetic professional development/support.

Dear Colleague - normally Citco provides a robust agenda of "in-class" programs of technical and soft skill training in an office of your size. However your office has been short a training partner for a period of time. A training resource will be coming to your office in February - so staff should look for a promotional email that will be sent early that month outlining the training offerings. As always we encourage staff to take the time to sign up and attend. In regards to more job specific training - our model is for new hires to be trained by their teams. If there is a need for more or refresher training - it's important to let your Account or Sr. Account Manager know when training has not been sufficient. Rest assured, we take your feedback seriously and have shared it with Training Management.

Pros

> Casual dress code > Routine work > Ability to meet a good bunch of people (at least used to) >FS's can become SFA's in about 3 yrs

Cons

> Very slow career progression (3 yrs to become senior fund accountant) > Company culture values productivity over everything else, ZERO care for employee satisfaction > With new system improvements, and ability to move jobs to Asia, they really don't care about Toronto staff in the next few years company will shrink > An attitude of lying and making you chase promotions for years is common practice

Dear Colleague - We appreciate you taking time to write a review - but want to take this opportunity to clarify some information around your impressions. Actually a more accurate average timeframe for promotion of a Fund Accountant to an SFA in the Toronto office is 2 - 2.5 years. Of course sometimes the cycle can take longer depending on the level of experience and progress of an employee. It is also quite typical for that office to have a robust number of promotions at mid year and year end. This year end there were over 70 promotions! Additionally the Toronto office is seeing lots of new funds coming in, and has many job openings as a result; as a strategic center for Citco this office is continuing to grow with new business. Employees are encouraged to discuss their concerns with HR or senior management to ensure they are getting the most accurate information about the firm.
