Dear Anonymous - as noted, Citco provides a great training ground for new graduates through exposure to sophisticated global products and clients. Our staff are hardworking, smart and learn how to balance a full workload - skills that are essential in any financial services firm but may be challenging as junior staff learn them. There are busy periods during the month and the year and our staff will work some long hours during those periods to meet stringent deadlines and SLA's. However the experience they gain will be invaluable. We do our best to balance those periods with generous time off policies and other flexibility when it can be provided during the quieter periods. Thanks for your feedback.

Depends on your manager and team....

Pros

Good benefits, generous PTO and holidays off, summer flex schedules. Meals during busy season. Very friendly staff if you choose to be social.

Cons

Incredibly unprofessional atmosphere all around. Very high turnover. Terrible communication. If you have certain managers your life can become a living hell. No work life balance because if you're a competent employee you are expected to pick up the slack from irresponsible coworkers. No room for advancement under management who doesn't want anyone to be better than them. Senior staff turns a blind eye as long as all the work gets done. Promotions are based on seniority and not work so you have a lot of incompetent people in management positions.

Dear Anonymous - Thanks for taking the time to share your views and starting on a positive note to highlight our comprehensive benefit and time off policies. Like most financial services firms, different departments at Citco have busy periods during the month and at certain periods in the year to meet our client needs. For example, our Financial Statements team in Malvern is just stepping into it's crunch period and there will be very little flexibility during the next couple of months to meet the demands of the workload and critical deadlines. This is something local HR and Talent Acquisition take great efforts to communicate during our recruitment process and which most financial professionals would understood to be "part of the job". However you cite our generous time off and summer flex policies. Those are in place exactly to counter balance the crunch periods. In regards to promotion practices - Malvern has routinely promoted numerous staff during their mid year process - and they are based on merit and performance - such that high performers of any tenure (not simply seniority) have advanced their careers in that location.
