Pros

Chance to work with some very talented individuals as well as chance to meet the movers and shakers of the world

Cons

The firm is very diverse and red tapes galore when trying to get something done. A lot of lazy individuals with sub-par work ethics. Hard work isn't realized nor rewarded.

Pros

-Large platform -Good franchise -Deep lending relationships -Attracts the second tier of people from undergrad + grad school and hence people are more "down to earth" (but on the con side, not as good as GS,JPM,MS)

Cons

-Consists of several fiefdoms that are highly political and competitive -You can always hide in this firm -Bureaucratic like Communist Russia - only those with connections to the polit-bureau remain -No one cares about clients - only their own jobs -Massive teams that are double staffed up the wazoo... -No one really takes any ownership -Extremely sharp elbows -Quality of people is generally below that of JPMorgan or Merrill Lynch -

Pros

large company with lots of possibilities and career mobility within, many different structured programs, extensive training programs for new hires, and lots of diversity. also possibilities to transfer to different geographies. a big company that won't lose it's ground or coverage even when the overall economy is unhealthy

Cons

too large, really incompetent managers who are too focused on themselves to focus on the entire team at end and utilizing people to their advantages, lots of politics, not a meritocracy at all. i think it very mediocre with about 30-40% of people, and they stay around for political reasons. the smart people are mismanaged and never reach their potentials.
