Pros

if you're into politics and admin work, there's a lot of it for you to get into. Classic corporate ladder even for a tech worker. Hybrid WFH arrangements

Cons

Bad place to be if you're a half decent developer. Lack of tech culture. Being a software engineer here feels more like you're going through admin paperwork than developing software. Lots of managers, not enough leaders. Toxic management, especially at a lower level. Low bar for developers, meaning you'll have to do your own work on top of cleaning up after others.

Pros

Competitive pay, great colleagues, global

Cons

Abusive management, long hours. The management made poor decisions for the business and hired new people to clean up the mess and deflect blame. What they tell you in your interview about your potential job is likely wont be true. Your job description will change. The bank tries to cut costs so will give you double the workload of the job you applied to. The bank has laid off and lost so many people, so they just need bodies to do whatever they need you to do. This happens all over the bank, from retail to credit cards to marketing. Be warned.

Pros

Salary is actually good. Visibility within the organization.

Cons

Bonus is non-existent. The global audit tool remains a work in progress years after its launch. On average, audit methodology changes once/twice a year with no buffer, impacting whatever audit you are currently working on. No training, just tossed into the water and expected to win an Olympic medal in swimming. Local/Regional/Global teams all do it their own "way" , hence there is no "right"way and you end up each time just please the person above you. In addition to which all try to satisfy the quality control team. Mountains of red tape and lost man-hours. Global micro-managing through a global tool.
